Rule #1: Your Bed Must Have a Solid Wall Behind It
Your headboard should be against a solid wall, zero gap. A wall provides support. When there's empty space behind you, your brain stays partially alert โ even while asleep.
Renter fix: Can't move the bed because of room layout? Use a high headboard bolted to the wall to create the feeling of support.
Rule #2: Don't Place Your Bed in Line with the Door
You should see the door from bed without your feet pointing at it. This is the command position.
Renter fix: Add a footboard ($40 on Amazon) or hang a curtain between door and bed.
Rule #3: No Mirror Facing the Bed
A mirror facing the bed fragments your sleep. Close the closet door or angle the mirror 15 degrees away.
Rule #4: Keep Electronics Out
TVs, phones, Wi-Fi routers create disruptive energy. Put phone in a drawer, turn off Wi-Fi at night.
