After 8 apartments in 5 years, here are the most common mistakes I see — and the simple fixes that actually work.
Most people put their bed on the first wall that fits. But that wall might be under a window, against a bathroom, or too thin.
Fix: The longest solid wall is almost always the best choice. Test each wall by lying in bed — if something feels off, try a different wall.
Your front door might open directly into the living room (very common in apartments). Energy enters and immediately escapes.
Fix: Place a mirror on the wall opposite the door, or a plant near the entrance to slow energy down.
Apartments come with mirrored closet doors. Combined with other mirrors, you can have too much reflective energy.
Fix: Decide which mirrors you actually need. Cover or remove extras.
The far left corner from your front door affects your finances. It's often where we pile things.
Fix: Keep that corner clean. Add one plant or one purple item.
Apartments often have harsh overhead lights or not enough light. Bad lighting drains energy from any room.
Fix: Add one floor lamp in a dark corner and one table lamp for soft lighting. Use warm bulbs (2700K).
